In 1995 the group of like-minded persons, who had an experience of trading in the financial markets, decided to create the teaching portal - World Market Education. Their objective was to create a resource representing diverse, professionally developed information on the financial markets enabling any person to promptly get both qualitative and quantitative description of this segment of the world economy. Main difficulty in the preparation of the material was that the resource was to meet the interests of diverse groups: experienced traders as well as the starters, investors providing specific assets and those who would be reviewing it out of curiosity. The problem was resolved by splitting each course into separate parts, with each part geared for a particular trainee. Normally, all our courses are divided into the following groups:

• Beginning
• Intermediate
• Advanced

At the initial stage all the material was only based on the experience and knowledge of the designers of the website. It should be noted that t collection, processing and laying out the material took a lot of time and effort. Still, the labours were not lost, and today WME occupies a prominent place among the leaders of distance learning in this particular subject. Over the years of the website's operation we established close mutually beneficial relations with many educational institutions of the South-East Asia, Europe and the US, as well as a variety of financial institutions (including the major stock exchanges and investment funds). At the moment our courses are developed not only by the WME staff, but also by external experts, and the teaching material of our courses is practically comparable to what is taught on this subject in the leading educational institutions of the world. That is the reason why the WME certificate is in much esteem with the employers all over the world.

Having accomplished a lot, we do not stop at that, and set ourselves a lot of very interesting tasks. At the moment WME intends to take part in the national distance learning programs developed under the supervision of the Chinese and the Russian governments. In this context, WME plans closer cooperation with these countries in the field of the distance learning.

Over the years of our operation, WME certificates were received by several thousand people. Not even one of them was disappointed. This is the most important result achieved in the eight years of the existence of WME.
